My friends Heidi and Ethan had their first child in May… a gorgeous little guy named Charlie. We had a such a great time at his newborn session it was hard for me to put my camera down. Here are a few of my favorites!
Of all the weddings I have done in the Black Hills over the years, Bobbie and Chris’s was the first I have ever shot at Stav Kirke (The Chapel in the Hills). The chapel is amazingly simple, yet intricate at the same time. It was the perfect backdrop to a beautiful ceremony between two people who were obviously in love. It was a joy to document the union between these two fun-loving and down-to-earth individuals. Thank you Bobbie and Chris for allowing me to be part of your day.
Tiffany and Jackson were married on a beautiful June day at Sylvan Lake. A fun-loving couple with a great support system of wonderful family and friends. As their photographer, I was able to be a short part of their journey from their engagement photos, to designing their wedding invitations, to photographing the amazing wedding day. I’m thankful for referrals…especially when they take me to warmer climates! My dear friends Sarah and Leif offered my services up to Leif’s brother Jody and his wife-to-be Sadie who were getting hitched in Las Vegas. Thank goodness they decided to hire me, because not only did I have a blast, I was able to capture some of my all time favorite wedding images! Furthermore, Jody and Sadie and their friends and family were so wonderful to work with. They welcomed me into their wedding weekend with open arms. A beautiful couple, an amazing weekend and a happy, happy photographer!
I hadn’t seen little Jackson since his 1 year portrait session. What a difference 6 months makes. This little charmer has the most captivating eyes and is always fun to photograph.

Fall is a beautiful time of year for family portraits. Last Saturday I documented the Everson family. Their son, Jackson, was celebrating his very first birthday the next day, so they brought some cake and we let Jackson dig right in! Here are some of my favorites from the session.
Bethany and Michael were high school sweethearts. Their wedding was held close to their hometown of Custer, SD, on August 21, 2010. This was my last Sylvan Lake wedding of the summer and for all the rain we saw in the months previous, this August day was sunny and hot! Friends and family of this couple showered them with laughter, memories, and blessings for their journey ahead. Bethany and Michael are truly a special couple and I wish them all the love and luck in the world!
